The Ordinance for the Sick – Cannon & Young – 1877

If objection is raised against the laying on of hands because its effects are not uniform in every case, the poet’s advice, “Throw physic to the dogs” should be followed, for there is nothing more uncertain than the results of medical treatment, and we should therefore use no drugs and fee no doctors.
